What's da difference between compact and loose powders?

I'm only 20, which one should I use? Do i have to use foundation? What's da difference between compact and loose powders?
loose powder are usually used to set liquid foundation and reduce shine, you would also need a soft powder brush to apply it evenly, since the puff applicator that comes with them don't usually spread it evenly. they are also generally messier so it would be best suited for home use.

compact powder usually comes in different kind of coverage.

light coverage are used for touch ups to prevent shine.

heavier coverage compact needs no liquid foundation, you can apply it straight on moisturized skin.

it really depends on your skin type, if your skin is oily, compact with coverage is better.

however, if it is dry, liquid foundation with loose powder would be a good choice.

if you need minimum coverage, applying loose powder without foundation would be enough.

You can use either, just depends on what you want. You don't have to of course but the loose powder isn't going to be a good idea if you're gonna need it for ';on the run.'; If you want something you can carry with you, get the compact.
you don't have to use foundation. powder is just to absorb oil. compact is for on the go, and loose is more for home use because it's easier to spill and make a mess.
