What mac powder compact should i get??

i use bareMinerals foundation for my make up, but it sometimes wears off a little bit throughout the day, espically since i have a PE during the day at school. so i was thinking about buying som MAC powder that i could use to touch up my make up through out the day. cus bareMinerals is too messy to take with me to school. i was thinking about getting the MINERALIZE SKINFINISH/NATURAL powder, would that be a good one to get?? if not sugget another one!

THANKS!!What mac powder compact should i get??
I think the best MAC powder compact is the Blot powder/pressed. It would be great for when you finish P.E. It would give a matte finish and it isn't too heavy on your skin. I have the Mineralize Skinfinish/ Natural myself and to me it is better to use as a finishing powder on top of your makeup that you already have on. And besides the compact that the mineralize skinfinish is in is very crumbly and would waste all over the place, something I wouldn't suggest to carry around. What mac powder compact should i get??
MAC is a really horrible brand to use to touch up your makeup after PE. MAC cosmetics is filled with tons and tons of unnatural chemicals that ultimately make you breakout. MAC Studiofix is a great foundation to use nightly when you have a hot date or something because it has such an airbrush finish.

But really, I'd stick to anything mineral for touch ups because they are harmless to your skin. Plus, mineral makeup usually doesn't have the ';cake-on'; effect when you use it throughout the day like other compact foundations do.

Carrying around loose powder may be annoying %26amp; a hassle, but in the long run, it's worth it.
i loveee MAC... mind you but keep in mind the powder is heavy duty therefore you have to make sure you clean it off everynight because its veryyy oily and causes breakouts as opposed to mineral foundation... soo if you're looking for a compact look into mineral foundations that are in compacts because it's important to take care of your skin

  • What do think about Clinique powder compacts?

The Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder ones. Do you know of anything better to control shine? What do think about Clinique powder compacts?
The stay-matte is the best one that I have used so far, and that includes a lot of other cheaper brands. It really really takes off the oil and stays like that for a long time, also stays close to the face. Just use one of their testers and see it you like itWhat do think about Clinique powder compacts?
clinqiue is a great brand! I luv them! There power is great and does not give me ance, it works!
    i LOVE IT.
i think it's expensive and rather use other cheaper prodducts. anyway, the results are the same
i use the clinique double powder. i love it and wouldn't use anything else.
I love my clinique stay-matte powder, although im starting to like my stila Illuminating powder foundation more.
    I buy covergirl and maxfactor
    It's the best! ;)
totally worth the money, especially if you need hypoallergenic
Its superb. One of my fave brands anyway.

    I can't imagine that working.

    Liquid to powder compact??

what is the best liquid to powder compact anyone has ever tried?? and also, tell me what kind of skin you haveLiquid to powder compact??
I use a tad bit of CoverGirl - Aquasmooth. It's a cream to powder foundation. I like it a lot. It covers up my uneven skin tones and redness. I would recommend the product. I am really unsure what type of skin I have. Sometimes it's dry, sometimes oily. Other times, it appears normal. I suppose it could be combonation skin.Liquid to powder compact??
I do not use foundation- I use color science bronzer- it is better for my skin and it has a tint to it- I do use bare minerals powder, but that is after I use my lotion, concealing stick and then powder and then blush- my complexion looks great! It will work good for all skin types- you can also try Cinqiue foundation, the make up artists will show you which is the best product for you- I use to have oily skin, but using the right products really helped-
I have great skin so I opt to not use foundation but I am a professional makeup artist and worked for retail lines and the one I used that I liked was from Clinique and was very popular, it is called City Base. Buildable coverage glides on as a cream, then turns into a silky powder. Imparts a soft, matte finish and also defends against environmental damage. Oil-free. Long-wearing.

i switched from covergirl trublend to maybelline matte finished pressed powder. try maybelline powders. they are amazing

ya it should be fine :D

    Best oil-blotting powder/compact?

i've heard good things about dr.feelgood, mac blot, and smashbox box anti-shine, but what do you think is the best for oily skin? thanksBest oil-blotting powder/compact?
MAC by far is the best.Best oil-blotting powder/compact?
i have oily skin and after putting on my foundation, powder/bronzer i used the line from avon called MARK and its in the a triangle shaped compact ,its LOOSE POWDER and its oil absorbing and i dont leave without it and i dont need to touch it up all day long i stay dry and am not shiny/oily its the best. Also you can use BLOT by Mac but dont get it in a compact get it in the loose powder and appy it with a powder puff.
Apply the smashbox Anti-shine (tube form) prior to ur foundation. MAC Blot Powder works if you have oily skin.
I use Clinique's Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder. It's oil-free, and sheer. It goes on nicely and takes away all the shine. It's only about $18.50 (U.S. dollars). I love it and it always works great for me with my wayy oily skin and all!!
MAC oil botting powder its only 5% pigmentation so its pretty much zero color! i swear by this in the summer.
dont even get a powder.. i think you should get oil blotting sheets from clean and clear ..they wont mess your makeup up they just get rid of the oil on your face.. not just clean and clear there are other ones too i think mac might have some.

  • Whih is better and why?Maybelline's Pure Makeup or Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers compact (not the loose powder)?

I have light skin with freckles and some natural redness. Other than that I have no skin problems. I want coverage that is light, smooth and natural.

And I don't mean the loose mineral powder for the mineral sheer foundation. I mean the foundation compact with the sponge.Whih is better and why?Maybelline's Pure Makeup or Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers compact (not the loose powder)?
go with neutrogena it's dermatologist tested and better for your skin. just don't apply it with the sponge as its a germ haven. invest in a good quality face brush such as a goat hair one that you can washWhih is better and why?Maybelline's Pure Makeup or Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers compact (not the loose powder)?
As far as foundation and powder goes, I like Neutrogena, because it feels cleaner and fresher on my skin, compared to Maybelline, even their mineral formulas.

I do use Maybelline occasionally, but usually only their eye make-up since they tend to have a larger variety of eye pencil, eye shadow and mascara colors.
If your skin is more oily then go with the Neutrogena's Mineral Sheers. If your skin is more dry or normal then use the Maybelline's Pure Makeup.
Neutrogena is deffinatley better because it's made to help prevent breakouts because of it's formula.
I use Maybelline's Pure Makeup...and I think it gives you a really natural look. It really blends in with my skin well.

How do you refill a m.a.c. compact blot powder?

i have a m.a.c. compact blot powder and i used up all its powder... how do you remove the powder container from the casing and replace it with a new one? i'm afraid that if i do something with it, i'll just ruin the casing...i really like m.a.c. and i like its black casing because its simple and not bulky.... i want to buy just the refill because its cheaper... so pls help me... thanksHow do you refill a m.a.c. compact blot powder?
You can't refill it sorry . If you do find the refills they are probably for pro's to put in their pro pallete. You just have to buy a new one. But the good news is if you have 6 empty plastic, glass, or metal containers from MAC, you can exchange it for a lipstick or sometimes an eyeshadow . :) It's called Back2Mac .

http://www.maccosmetics.com/customerserv鈥?/a>How do you refill a m.a.c. compact blot powder?
So if you are unsure, just go to the Mac counter and purchase the new one, and let them replace it for you. This way you don't have to worry about breaking it. If they break it, they will replace it for free.
    you can't replace it

Mineral Make up, is it better that soild compact powders?

i was thinking of getting some, any recommendations? %26amp; do they work good?Mineral Make up, is it better that soild compact powders?
Bare minerals from sephora works amazing!

i reccomend mineral makeup! ive been using it for 2 yrs...and its good for your skin...doesnt clog pores...makes it look like your not wearing any make up at all...face looks flawless and glowy..

    i love it!

=)Mineral Make up, is it better that soild compact powders?
Bare Minerals! Find it at WWW.Sephora.com
I like it alot better!! My Mom sells the Mary-Kay mineral makeup so thats what i use
Definitely better than other powders I've tried. Its light, makes my skin soft, healthier and I never have to worry about it clogging my pores. My favorite mineral make up brand is Bare Essentials, its definitely a must have. Its pricey but its the best mineral make up I've ever tried. I always get great compliments on my skin. People say I have flawless skin, even though i'm far from having perfect skin. It gives me great coverage, for those one or two little bumps or blemishes. I have combination/dry skin and this powder foundation is perfect. Another great mineral powder is physicians formula. I love it too but I personally think Bare essentials is much better.
Oh yes. I love it much better than the compact powders because it covers better and gives you an amazing finish. I have had great luck with the kms mineral essentials products. It is truly all pure minerals, and my skin looks absolutely flawless now.
    Yes it is better!!!

I use it all the time!

Try the new Maybelline one its really good!

There is a new powder/foundation compact i saw late night on a commercial does anyone know what its called?

Anybody tired Clarins shine stopper powder compact? I use Mac blot powder now. It's good but I want better. :)

I have never tried Clarins shine stopper powder compact, but I recommend SmashBox Compact Anti-Shine. This stuff is really small (so you can carry it with you anywhere) and has a portable mirror in it. It mattifies your skin without disturbing your makeup, and doesn't leave a nasty film of powder or clogged pores. This stuff costs $28.00 and can be purchased at Sephora.

Ladies what Powder-Compact do you prefer?

I used to be a Covergirl lover, until I tried Clinique, Now I have fallen in love with Benefit Get Even Compact.Ladies what Powder-Compact do you prefer?
MAC...best compact powder ever (and relatively inexpensive for what it offers).

Bare Minerals powder is unbelievable (but its not a compact). Its great for your skin too.Ladies what Powder-Compact do you prefer?
Right now I'm using Pur Minerals. It was the only mineral product I could find that was pressed. It has good coverage comparable to liquid foundations.

Here's some other information you might find helpful:

Ideal Shade %26amp; Beyond Color by Avon. Great products for an affordable price. Email me if you want to read the reviews on these products. I also know a free shipping code if you are interested.
I love the maybeline products. The bronzer is great. But for mineral powder ( i know, not compact ) i prefer covergirl.
ok so the best compact powder is avon but i use covergirl which is the next best thing and is cheeper
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Powder, it's the best thing you'll ever use

Has anyone used L oreal feel naturale compact powder?

i just ordered over the internet this product and i was wondering if you guys have any opinions in using this product. I am very choosy when it comes to compact powders and i was wondering if it can cause breakouts, etc. I just want to ask if it is a good buy for a cheap price..Has anyone used L oreal feel naturale compact powder?
Ingredients: (from retailer or packaging) Isononyl Isononanoate, Nylon-12, Octyl Palmitate, Phenyl Trimethicone, PTFE, Isopropyl Lanolate, Silica, Microcrystalline Wax, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Carnauba Wax, Alumina, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Dimethicone, Tocopherol. May Contain: Titanium Dioxide/CI 77891, Iron Oxides/CI 77489, CI 77492, CI 77499 16403.

There are some questionable chemicals in this product. There are more natural products that are comparable in price. Sometimes the cheapest is not always the best. I use Affordable Mineral Makeup. It contains 4 minerals. I have done a lot of research and this is the product that I have found to be better for my skin. It works really well and feels and looks natural.

Since you have already ordered the product give it a try and see how it works on your skin. You may not have any problems.Has anyone used L oreal feel naturale compact powder?
i found it too cakey and not natural looking at all.

hope it works out for you!

My skin gets ashy color when i apply any compact powder or foundation?

so i apply it a shade 2 or 3 tones lighter than my face CUZ my face and neck r tanned(farmers tan) while my body is light in color....but when i apply it ,my face looks sick-ish and greyish and NOTHING like my body color?what shall i do???my skin has yellow undertone i guess...but the tanned part looks olive-ish(if u noe what i mean)

well anyways how can i solve this makeup disaster?????and what makeup to use for daily wear for a fresh look

thanks y'allMy skin gets ashy color when i apply any compact powder or foundation?
The reason you get that ashy color is because the foundation is too light. I would suggest going with a mineral makeup. Try Bare Essentials its natural, gives you a flawless look and it does not irritate your skin. Sephora or Macy's also has experts there to help you find the right shade for you if you want a powder or liquid foundation. My skin gets ashy color when i apply any compact powder or foundation?
forget about the farmers tan and get whatever matches your neck and natural skintone on your face with out any makeupp.

go to a MAC counter or other makeup counter and ask them to color match you.

  • How long can i keep my compact powder?

I've bought a compact powder for almost 3 years.. Can it still be use?How long can i keep my compact powder?
you can keep it for about 24 months, make sure you clean your sponge every 2 weeks or so. I have worked in the cosmetic industry for years and when someone is very oily there face oils on there sponges transfer onto the powder making the powder appear wet and it's disgusting. So get new sponges or wash yours. Honestly if you are good at keeping your product clean and constantly checking to make sure it smells ok you should be fine at keeping alot of yout makeup longer then marked. Powder you can keep for a long time same with eyeshadow, when you start to get inot liquids thats when you need to be careful. How long can i keep my compact powder?
At least get new pads. Because its filled with germs. That can break you out.
If it is pressed powder, it has a shelf life of only 2 years, so you should toss it immediately.

If it is loose powder, it should only stand 3 years.

If it's concealer, toss after 2 years.

    Hope it helped!

Which pressed powder [[compact]] should i get?

So I just lost my Clinique sheer compact. horrible, i know, but i don't have the time to go to a department store or the mall to buy another. I'm wondering whats the best compact makeup i can get from a place like walmart. I need sheer coverage for oily skin. my skin is really light. help me? opinions!(: (i.e: covergirl... maybelline, etc, etc...)Which pressed powder [[compact]] should i get?
    maybelline dream matte pressed powder

i really really like this stuff but my skin is too dry for it :(

it sounds like its exactly what youre looking for though :)Which pressed powder [[compact]] should i get?
I've tried the Covergirl pressed powder; it had pretty decent coverage and a good range of colours but it was a bit cakey.

You might try Physician's formula, they have really nice mineral loose and compact powders. I have very fair skin and it works nicely for me.

I prefer loose powders, personally, because they aren't as cakey, but that's your call.

    Either way, those are two that I might suggest if you have very light skin;

I can't wear a lot of brands because they don't make colours light enough.

    Hope that helps. :]
I have tried SO many different powders but always go back to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish natural. It's mineral-based, and it can go on sheer if you use a powder brush or can even be used as a foundation if you buff it on with a kabuki brush. It's so beautiful on my face, makes it look natural and like velvet.
Covergirl! I also love clinque makeup!

Get the covergirl compact for like sensitive skin or i just forget what its called but its nice! Its a green compact, the other colors of the compact mean like what skin types its for.

    Hope I helped
you can use revoln it works really good gives you a natural look =]

also try almay that one is better

I've been using Lancome 2-way cake compact powder for 4 yrs but only recently the powder cracks.?

This is already 4 times it cracks. I sent back to Lancome outlet and for 1st and 2nd time they exchanged back to me quite willingly but came to the 3rd time, the staff was quite hesistant. I understand her position but I didn't do anything with the powder, I didn't drop it or whatsoever. This just happen recently and it's quite bothersome. Do anyone know what cause this and what should I do about it. I sent an email to Lancome but havent reply yet.I've been using Lancome 2-way cake compact powder for 4 yrs but only recently the powder cracks.?
I would first ask how long you have had the powder you are currently using and are you storing it differently that you had in the past? If it is a newer powder and you store it the same - through it out and buy a new one - maybe you got a bad batch. Write to the company if you wish - maybe they will send you some coupons. If the next one you buy does the same thing, they may have changed some ingredients or a process in their manufacturing. Cosmetics are constantly upgrading, so this is quite possible. If it really bothers you - try another similar product from the Lancome line. Good Luck!

first put on some lotion right after you towel dry and put some lotion on your face and than put your make up on and you can instantly see the differenceMy skin gets ashy color when i apply any compact powder or foundation?
I mostly end up beginning inexpensive and trying out tons products. Do what seems right and I bet your gut will be right. I read reviews at http://BrandsMakeup.com
its probably that you have flakey dry skin or theres somthing about the certain compact powder you use. make sure you match your foundation color to YOUR FACE AND NECK despite it being too dark for the rest of your body, or else you can look ghostly and flakey.

What you can do is dust some bronzer over chest and top of your shoulders to give you that tanny look to match with your face and neck.

i dont know what else to tell you, you can also put tanning lotion all over your body(not the heavy kinds) and that will compliment with your face.

just remember that dont ever use a different color of powder for your face, thats not very good.

daily wear makeup, i suggest some light foundation, bronzer and blush at the apples of your cheeks.nude lips and gloss

    hope i helped
Put moisturizer on your face or a primer before you apply foundation and then use a whipped or mousse type foundation to avoid the ashy look. Try the bisque or buff colors rather than anything in ivory, which would be too light for you.

You need to do your face in a shade that is in between your fair body color and the tan on your face now. You're are going too light, I'm afraid. Good luck!! : P

ever since high school i have been having a hard time finding the right compact powder for me since most of the local brands here in the philippines, plus VMV gives me acne. I have been researching on the internet and i have narrowed it down to MF facefinity, l'oreal feel naturale, revlon colorstay and maybelline. which of them is the best for my face%26lt;by the way i am from the philippines, where our weather is so humid%26gt;. hope any one can help me..thanks.Which is the best compact powder that is non acnegenic?

clinique's anti-blemish powder compact. i have oily skin and from malaysia. the compact powder provides good coverage and it doesnt lead to breakouts. since the weather there is also hot and humid, powder compacts are yur best bet. removing them with baby wipes also helps alot, u'll notice a difference with yur acne condition.

please dont tell me to use this as a loose powderMy powder compact broke(how can i fix this?)?
i know you can do this with eye shadows. i assume it would be the same with a pressed powder since its the same just larger. do not use nail polish remover as you will be putting the product on your face

    put compact in ziploc bag

crush up the rest of powder so it looks like a loose powder

add a small amount of water, you could also use mixing solutions or ever contact solution

put back in ziploc bag and press powder back into the compact form

let it dry and see what happens.

Does compact powder cuase black/white heads?

I have really good skin..except for around my period! But what has bothered me is the past three or four months I have this little clogged looking area on the left side of my face by nose, close to the eye, but still on the cheek if that makes sense. It's driving me crazy! It's like little white heads clustered together about 5, not huge just stuck there no matter how I scrub. use pore strips, or pop them! How can I get rid of these? Is it something I'm eating or doing? I do use Almay Skin Clearing powder foundation ALOT of that area and I'm starting to wonder could that possibly be clogging my pores?Does compact powder cuase black/white heads?
    it helps clog pores.

    try this. it will help!

my son has been using pine tar soap for a over two months now. it has really helped clear it up. he had it really bad. huge sores on his face, back and some on his arms and chest. you can get it thru your pharmacy. it costs about $4 a bar and a bar can last 3-4 wks. His skin is 100 percent clearer nowDoes compact powder cuase black/white heads?
it could be the applicator you are using.

Try using Cetaphil face wash with the Clarisonic face brush.

And your skin should clear up!!!
yes because you need to change the makeup pad regularly after every use i suggest switching to bare minerals make up it wont clog your pores as for fixing your skin try getting a microdermabrasion at a local salon for 30-60 $

Can i use compact powder without using foundation?

m 20.i live in india.my skin is oily.its fairer than wheatish skin.my college working hours is frm 8 am-5 pm. it goes dull with the time.i mean starting 1 hour it looks nice.thn it starts getting dull.can i use compact powder daily jus after washing my face n moisturizing it?will it harm my skin? Can i use compact powder without using foundation?
Yes, you can just powder your skin. That's what I do. If you have oily skin you should, however, get a powder compact 1-3 shades lighter than your skin, depending on how oily it is, because the oil on your skin soaks into the powder and makes it darker. Also, Look for oil absorbing talc-free compacts. Always read the ingredients, because talc makes oily skin worse, causes breakouts, and is linked to cancer. A last tip for oily skin, carry around your compact and blotting papers. Throughout the day use the blotting papers to remove excess oil, and then reapply your powder compact.

Hope this helped! Can i use compact powder without using foundation?
Sure you can do that %26amp; it won't harm your skin, it may dry it out somewhat. Have you tried Cover Girl's pressed powder/foundation? It's a 2 in one it is great, doesn't clog your poors, keeps your face from looking oily, %26amp; blends %26amp; tones your complexion.
Yes! I do that all the time because my skin doesn't really need foundation. Plus, it's reallllllllllllly oily. Do you have Covergirl in India? Because if you do, then get the Clean line.
use compact powder only after putting some tonic on your face it helps better without foundation
Yeah thats what i do and no it wont harm your skin.

  • MakeUp: compact/powder and eyliner?....pic?

Hey....um im a girl who likes to use makeup to freshen herself up [see picture]....http://i283.photobucket.com/鈥?br>

but i am having a hard time finding the right products.

I want a compact/facial powder that is good for fair skinned people and would cover up very nicely since i have natural red cheeks...and i would not like it to be as noticeable

also...every eyeliner i buy seems to smudge just when i blink. and my eyes wter semi-easily...so is there a better quality eyeliner i can buy at a not top notch price?MakeUp: compact/powder and eyliner?....pic?
instead of using a compact/facial powder, you should try using a liquid foundation (a good, cheap option is maybelline) and then use a loose powder over the top of it (maybelline again has a nice loose powder that's pretty cheap)

usually, also, if you want a compact, you can find one for ultra cheap and that is amazing quality in your local china-townish neighborhood. asian drugstores are great for cheap, good makeup!

and i've found the styli-style has the best, cheap, non-smudgy eyeliner. don't get the pencil, get the thin, twist-up kindMakeUp: compact/powder and eyliner?....pic?
try a powder that reduces redness:

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc鈥?/a>

but be aware that powder foundations are not ideal for your skin. they don't cover much, if you really want to coverup the redness i would try something alittle heavier. if you don't want to use liquid foundation try a green primer instead:

    http://www.clinique.com/templates/produc鈥?/a>

as for your eyeliner m.a.c makes a great products, its very pigmented and it's waterproof so it won't smudge. it also comes in a variety of colors :)

i also like urban decay 24/7 eyeliners.
I use the body shop all in one face base. It's a compact powder foundation and it's great.

You can use it dry, or you can wet a sponge and use it that way for more coverage.

If you're talking about liquid eyeliner, the best i've come across so far is the Revlon Colorstay.

    It seriously doesn't budge.
cover girl pressed powder is good,

and for the eyes, revlon colorstay eyeliner with black shadow on top to seal it.
Mark's C-Thru-U Beautifying Sheer Tint is awesome! It looks really natural and works great to even out red cheeks {what I use it for}. To order it go to www.meetmark.com and follow the appropriate links =P For eyeliner, try CoverGirl Power Point Plus. You can get it at any drugstore. I took a nap today {I'm a big girl now lol} and when I got up my liner hadn't budged!

A compact powder that won't dry out my face?

I use CG compact powder for my face. Before i apply this i use revlon concelear and a musse foundation. After i apply this my skin gets dry and flaky. Especially around my nose! I would stop using the powder but i need to because i over-heat sometimes during the day and it seems to be the only product that has covered up the redness. I have tried lots of products! ugh. B.T.W i use clinique mosturizer at night and aveno calming mosturizer in the morning. Okay. So does anyone know of a good quality (compact) face powder that will NOT dry out my skin? (: thanks guys.A compact powder that won't dry out my face?
i use bare minerals. it doesnt let your skin get flaky or dry it out .I have problems with redness and it covers it perfectly .mineral makeup is much better for your skin than regular greasy makeup. it doesnt clog your pores and feels very natural. I think another good mineral makeup is Jean Ardale ( I think thats the name) it comes in a compact and works great also.It does cost more than the other. If you have an Ulta store near you ,they have the bare minerals, I belive they will give you a makeover free to try it out . You wont be disapointed I wasnt. It was the first infomercial that really was right :) good luck

Does anyone remember ';Natural Glow';, the makeup powder/compact???

';Natural Glow';, it was supposed to give a great Glow to your face, neck etc (also it had that women with the annoying voice on the ad, you must remember her??)?? Does anyone know where I can buy it from on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia????Does anyone remember ';Natural Glow';, the makeup powder/compact???
    yeah, nah!

Yeah I remember her - a pommy sheila.

    Casn u recommend a good compact powder?please.?

i have been using sephora compact from past a month and for a week i had no problem..but later i started to break out.I have a sensitive skin and i did have acne ,mild form till 2 yrs back but since a yr it has been better. Can u plz recommend a compact which is non comedogenic and affordable too.

Did anyone using sephora experience breakouts?

Also i had this q...my friend used my compact powder...and she has acne too ...do u think it could be the reaqson for my acne..?

After she used my compact i did clean my powder and the brush with alcohol wipe..isn't taht sufficient?do i need to just get rid of my compact ..oh god..i paid a lot for that...i feel so bad..

    suggestions please...Casn u recommend a good compact powder?please.?
First of all, the way to clean a makeup brush is to use shampoo and water. Then let it air-dry. Good brushes are made out of animal hair, and they should be cleaned about once every few months.

I would recommend Mary Kay dual coverage powder. It's a pressed powder, but if you want foundation, you just take a wet sponge use it to apply the powder. It's completely non comedogenic, and so are all the other Mary Kay products.Casn u recommend a good compact powder?please.?
i use mabeline ny dream moose powder. I dont break out. i love it and all makeup will give u acne so wash ur face when u get home.
you should try CLINIQUE. they use allergy-free ingredients in their makeup
i agree... i use mary kay and it works great! everyone says i have that ';flawless finish'; look everytime i do my makeup, and it's the makeup!...so try the marykay dual coverage powder. plus they have a shade to match any skin tone, it's amazing!
I just tried Estee Lauder's new compact foundation called Double Wear. It runs about 32.50, but well worth it. It only takes one swipe and it covers EVERYTHING! The compact itself is pretty big, so I imagine that it will last a while. Clinique also has a compact powder called Double Matte. It is pretty good also. As for your acne, I swear by Pro-Active. I have been using it now for about 4 years. I tried everything, and Pro-Active works!! I saw results after about 2 weeks!! I made the mistake of trying to go off of it once, and went right back to it.
    cover girl`s TRUEBLEND...

it makes your skin soft and smooth. and looking soft and smooth too. and i doesn`t make you break out. and the price is about $9.45 or something like that.

    hope this helps!! %26lt;3
clinique is really good. they have pressed powder and also they have this new powder thats like a foundation, but it's powder, works really well. goodluck!
Lancombe is great they have a compact I use it works great and last and lasts for a long time. it costs about 17.50 for a compact you can buy it at a belk, or profotts. good luck

    Foundation&compact powder-?

whats the cheapst and long lasting foundation and compact?Foundation%26amp;compact powder-?
    NAPOLEON PERDISFoundation%26amp;compact powder-?
Well is someone is asking for an inexpensive makeup product obviously she can't just go off and spend $60+ for a bottle of Chanel...

    Anywho...

Cover Girl for sure is your best bet for long lasting foundation and powder. If you prefer one step makeup I suggest Ultimate Finish Liquid Powder Makeup ($8CDN). It goes on as a cream foundation but settles as a powder. It is awesome stuff.

If you prefer just a bottle of liquid then I would suggest the Auqa Smoother's foundation($6CDN). It goes on light, moisturizes the skin, and won't clog pores. I love this stuff.

As for powder the Smoother's Pressed Powder($5CDN) is another winner!

    Good luck!

And remember, just because it doesn't have a fancy label attached to it doesn't mean it isn't just as good!
    Covergirl!

it's cheap and it works great!

i think it has really good coverage,

and i don't get all shiny after a few hours.
plzzzzzzzzzzz dont buy cheap makeup. you will regret it later;) buy chanel or estee launder.

i just want to buy a new pressed powder. expensive. because i think that expensive one is good for my skin in a long run.

like, what brand of pressed powder (compact) should i buy?

    from +clinique

    +lancome

    +shiseido

    +estee lauder

or chanel ? Choosing pressed powder compact?
Definitely Clinique- Most natural hands down. Choosing pressed powder compact?
I've heard shiseido is really good, as is chanel. Clinique is okay, it's really not that expensive compared to the other brands you have on your list - but it's still alright. Lancome would be another good one, and I've always thought only old ladies wear Estee Lauder (at least they did at the department store I worked at lol)
    clinique is the best one

because clinique is a drugstore brand
buy chanel products because it is branded and it will cover every mark and scar on your face.

you will find this product in any drug store and it will be around 拢8/10.

Girls! whats best make-up for you, loose powder or compact powder?

Which do you think is best? :DGirls! whats best make-up for you, loose powder or compact powder?
Compact powder in general, it gives a better coverage and I always end up getting loose powder everywhere. Although in the summer when heading to the beach loose powder is better as it comes off quite naturally in water, where as compact goes all streaky and sometimes gloppy. Girls! whats best make-up for you, loose powder or compact powder?
Well, it depends. For liquid or cream foundation, a compact powder is necessary to put on top for setting the makeup and taking out shine. Loose powder is better if it's too hot out for foundation and you just want some quick coverage.
    i like compact powder.

    answer mine? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?鈥?/a>
    I like compact powder =)

ive spilled loose powder sooo many times! haha

but i also like the look of the compact better too!
I like both. Loose powder is messier but I really think it covers better. Compact powder is easier to take somewhere with you because it does not spill or make as big of mess.

See if eBay has anything similar listed. It could be quite valuable if it's in good condition. I have some compacts, circa 1930s and 40s, that are worth between $60 and $100 each.

apply liquid foundation then your anti shine foundation.

for somthing lighter try a blot powder. mac has one..Stay Matte Compact Powder Foundation Anti-Shine(help)?
Foundation isnt meant to control shine it supposed to control spots and unwanted things on your face so yes if you applied the powder after the foundation it works i would buy loose powder to put on after though and wait till the foundation drys ;)
There is an awesome product by Smashbox called anti-shine. Put it on under your liquid and it will suck up all the oil. Its awesome. I won't go without it. You can find it at sephora. It cost $30.00 for a tube of it but it will last forever. Well worth it.
when using liquid you should always set it with a loose powder and apply the compact powder later on for touch ups.compact powders are not made to set liquid foundations.

I recommend any of the loose or pressed powder by Physician's Formula. The loose is about $10-12, and the pressed is about the same price. It's a little expensive, but these products work well and last a while. If you are looking for something that is a little less expenive and controls shine, try Maybelline's Shine Control loose and pressed powder line. Both of these products cost approximately $6 each.

Its alil expensive but the stuff lasts forever lol and is great! go to www.clinque.com and you can look at products and shop! If you decide to order off line then you can get a free trial size of a product also. Which the trials last for along time too!
You have a couple good choices.

If money is no object, the best is Darphin's ';Vital Protection Fluide De Jour Day Fluid';. It has spf 15. Besides online, the only place I know to buy Darphin is at Neiman Marcus.

Your second, much cheaper option, is to get Dermacol's Active Q10 cream. They have a huge line of products.

Now, here's some advice I guarantee you won't get elsewhere: go to the men's skincare section of your local supermarket and pick up Gillette's Complete Skincare Facial Moisturizer for men. Also spf15. It gives you zero oily shine.

(Don't confuse this one and the one that shows the word ';Protection'; on it... you want the Facial SPF 15 Moisturizer).

By the way, if you get an oily look, just wait a few minutes after applying the cream and then take a cold washcloth and just press it against your face. Pat your face dry with a dry towel, and no more oily shine.
That's the trouble with sunscreens, they all look so shiny. The best one I've found is Olay Complete for sensitive skin. It's still a tad shiny, but not as bad as some others. I also use Bare Escentuals foundation, which has natural sunscreen.
Check your products. If they contain mineral oil, there's your answer. The molecular structure of mineral oil is too large to penetrate the pores of your skin and sit on the top layer like saran wrap. They give a temporary feeling of protection, but only because they are heavily sitting on the top layer. You need a pure water based product that will penetrate the dermis and give you maximum benefit. Arbonne has a great Before Sun line. Their damage control SPF 30 sunscreen is a water resistant formula that includes a sunscreen and helps prevent sunburn, even after 40 minutes of water activity. It's main ingredients are avobenzone, arnica, chamomile, rosemary extracts. Arbonne also has a great anti-aging day cr猫me (SPF 8) and an intelligence moisturizer. Both are pure, safe, and beneficial.

Their cosmetics are also botanically based with natural ingredients proven to last long with great benefits to your skin. Their mineral powder contains an SPF. I use it over my foundation for a nice flawless look. If you're interested in trying a free sample of the day creme (SPF 8, light weight and great for under makeup) or moisturizer, I'll be happy to send you one. If you would like more information on the cosmetics, I'll be happy to send you more information.
Try looking for one for oily skin at the drug store I have oily skin to lots to choose from.

I think that neutrogena has one for acne-prone skin. Check it out on their website.
Maybelline Shinefree Pressed Powder is the best I've ever used to stop my face from being shiny and greasy. I too have oily skin, and it works great. I'd say go with that. If you do, though, and you can't decide between two shades... go with the one that is a bit lighter, it will look much more natural.
Hey use maybelline shine free pressed and loose powder. it works great and isn't cakey. it feels light fresh and you don't look oily plus it wont block your pores.
yes i use maybelline pure powder

same as me! I use studio fix liquid and mineralize powder, I think the compact is good because it's handy and portable, but the finish with the liquid and powder is better. TRY booth LANCOME DUAL POWER is wonderfull i have oily skin believe me it works!
I have oily/combination and I have tried almost every product and it doesn't work, And I must say that I've tried the Clinique products and absolutely love the results. Not only does it keep your oily face in check but it also gets rid of the dead skin cells and the acne. It works wonders on me, my face is always glowing. I think you should try it if you have oily skin they'll tell you to try number 3. Definitely buy the toner because it helps a lot and the lotion which is actually a gel. I think you'll love the results. They also have other products too to help, but I personally think that the cleanser, toner and lotion was enough for me (based on my results).
You might want to check out this skincare line called arbonne. It is an all natural skincare line, that has no animal by products and is even PETA approved. No fragrance, so for people w/sensitive skin it will keep you from breaking out. They do have all natural makeup as well. You can look at their products if you would like.

I don't know, but it doesn't for me. I use CoverGirl clean compact powder, fragrance free. I use the wam beige tone, and the compact is a pretty green colour.

Some common arrgravants in cosmetics are fragrances and musks. Check the ingredients on your cosmetics to see. Maybe this is what's causing you to get pimples.

    Maybe a kabuki brush?

I use studio fix powder foundation from MAC and use the MAC kabuki brush. I get a ton of compliments on having flawless skin. It makes my skin have kind of an air-brushed feeling. Hope this helps!I'm a beginner.. pressed/compact powder foundation?
well its good that you applying it with brush... is it and old/ bad brush?? maybe a different foundation... i recommend too faced brand from sephora its called magic wand or magicstick something like that it has a brush built in and i think it looks good.
Foundation can cause acne, so I don't suggest using it. The trick to make-up is enhancing the beauty you already have. Try some concealer (cover-up) and maybe some light blush. It's best to go into a make-up store in your area (like Merle Norman) and have them find the specific color that matches your skin the best. That's what I did and they made it a lot easier. They even told me how to apply and remove it. Good Luck!

Which compact powder (L'Oreal is best)??

What I use and I LOVE and I will FOREVER use is Bare Minerals. It is hands down the best mineral makeup ever. It doesn't clog up your pores, and its not so powdery so your face looks like a mask, but it looks completely natural on. And it has awesome coverage. I have oily skin too, and when I wear Bare Minerals my face is shine free and perfect all day even when I hit the gym :) I buy mine from SephoraWhich compact powder (L'Oreal is best)??
i love true mach its by far the best powder ive used by L'Oreal
I also like Bare Minerals, you can buy it from Selfridges and some branches of Debenhams. I have very sensitive skin, it is the only product that works for me.

    Do compact powder cause wrinkles?

    noDo compact powder cause wrinkles?
Compact powders can dry out the surface of your skin, which makes it look more wrinkled. Make sure you drink enough water (64 oz a day), and use a moisturizer with spf. This will protect the surface of your skin. Try the new mineral makeup thats out there, I love it! It feels the same, looks better, and won't dry out your skin. Make sure it's talc-free. Hope that helps!Do compact powder cause wrinkles?
i dont think so but in my opnion they often tend to accentuate them
No. But they do accentuate them. If the look isn't right for you, try other products to see what looks best. You can get some excellent advise at Spa-salons who have trained cosmeticians who know how products work and can tell you what's best to buy for your skin.
No it doesn't cause wrinkles but it doesn't have spf in it so if your wearing it for years without putting on sunscreen first, you will have wrinkles more than if you wore foundation with a sunscreen in it.

Have anyone tried Neutrogena FineFairness UV Compact Powder??

I'm currently searching for a great powder that is:

    skin-friendly

not heavy for my skin (looks natural when applied as if i did not apply anything at all)

long-lasting (lasts for 5-6 hours without reapplying)

not cakey (doesn't look like mud on my face)

can even skintone permanently or temporarily

    works on hot weather

I had search the net and this is the powder I found but for my budget, it is kinda pricey so I want to make sure that this will really satisfy me so that I will not waste my money big time.

I'm a student so I would use this daily if ever.

So do you guys recommend this powder??

Thanks for replies. I would really appreciate it.Have anyone tried Neutrogena FineFairness UV Compact Powder??
Try Bare Essentials. It might be a little pricey though. I've tried the Neutrogena fine fairness mask and saw some improvement. I couldn't find any Neutrogena fine fairness products in the states though and I've looked everywhere. What's a good online site for their products. Sorry for answering your question with a question : )

Suggest me a good compact powder.plz!!!!!!!!!?

    tell me do compacts expire?

they actually dont hav any expiry date printd on them?

m in india.n cant covergirl brand.so tell me a good brand.

my skin is oily.n m 20 yrs old.

i want to use it daily jus after washing my face to prevent oiliness.Suggest me a good compact powder.plz!!!!!!!!!?
Lakme is a very good brand. You should purchase this from Lakme outlet or a reputed cosmetics shop only. The manufacturing date / month is printed on this items and it is advisable to use these for not more than one year once the pack is opened. These should be stored and handled properly / hygenically. Before applying compact, wash your face with a cleasning liquid and dab it with soft tissue / towel.. do not rub the skin as it re-activates oil glands and skin becomes oily again. after that, apply astringent on face with help of cotton sobs and allow it to dry and then apply compact. astringent will not allow the skin oil to surface on skin which clogs the skin pores with makeup. hope this helps... if have queries further, feel free to mail me.Suggest me a good compact powder.plz!!!!!!!!!?
Chanel is very good, its not the cheapest one of course, but it will last for a long time and you don't have to buy a new one so soon. Bourjois is much cheaper and is also very good and natural. And the covers are very nice too.
you can use lakme face magic cream, and then apply lakme compact powder, it will be good, my skin too is oily and i use this for better looks.
I dont know if its available in India... its called oil control paper... so that ya dont need any compact powder....ya can use it daily...absolutely uncomplicated...every now and then ya dab off ur face 'n dats it

Covergirl. Relatively inexpensive and works great.
i would say Maybelline Pure Stay. It's relatively cheap too
Yeah Covergirl AquaSmooth. It's amazing. I've been using it for years. It comes in a blue compact.

I use revlon compact foundation and its best on me shoud i use loose powder or compact powder on?which brand?

Loose powder is used to set your makeup in the morning while the pressed stuff is better for quick light touchups throughout the dayI use revlon compact foundation and its best on me shoud i use loose powder or compact powder on?which brand?
I agree with Jen. Loose powder in the a.m. and of course stick to the same brand.I use revlon compact foundation and its best on me shoud i use loose powder or compact powder on?which brand?
pat your loose powder on. don't rub it in. Something a lady I know that has put make up on the miss usa pagant ladies told me.

Another Tip.... if you put just a bit of powder on the top of your cheek under your eyes before you put your eye shadow on you will not have that color on your cheeks.. You can use a brush to poof it off the top of the powder.

What is the price of lakme '; creme compact '; n ';powder compact?which is better';creme compact'; or powder compac?

I don't know the price but powder compact is good. What is the price of lakme '; creme compact '; n ';powder compact?which is better';creme compact'; or powder compac?
Not familiar w/that brand (US?), but if you have dry skin, the creme shouldn't irritate your skintype, whereas pwdr might. Combo/oily skin would probably work better w/pwdr.

If your skin is sensitive, depending on what ingredients the manufacturer puts into these products, you may not like either of these.

Best thing is to google that brand, see if you can find prices. Order it overseas if it isn't avail in your country. What is the price of lakme '; creme compact '; n ';powder compact?which is better';creme compact'; or powder compac?
Creme compact is best for sceen.

    The best compact powder?

I am looking for a compact powder/pressed powder that has medium to high coverage, stays on for a long time, moisturizing and makes my skin looks smooth. I am considering the following brands. Which one is better?? Any other suggestions?

    1. Bobbi Brown

    2. Estee Lauder - Cyber white

    3. MAC - Studio Fix

    4. Christian Dior

    The best compact powder?
I use Bare Minerals and I love it.. you can apply it however you want and it will never clog your pores because it is 100% natural. what i really love it is comes in a start kit that includes everything you need including an instructions dvd, i think you should consider it as well. you can also stop by sephora and they will give you a make over using the Bare Minerals... good luck on your choice..The best compact powder?
Ok it depends on your skin color. If you are a woman of color look at Bobbi Brown. Now MAC and Estee Lauder are actually the same company so you won't find much a difference there. I use Mary Kay's Mineral Pressed Powder, I love it. It makes my skin look smooth, like a model finish look. MAC studio fix leaves like a caky substance on your face. I don't know anything about Dior.
never tried any of those my fave is lorea'l true match super-blendable powder you find the color closets to your skin their is this step by step instructions on the display case and when you wear it, it adjusts flawlessly to your skin and it feels good on
Jane Iredale has a pressed powder. its safe enough to use just 1 week after laser surgery, its the original mineral makeup created by an esthetician for delicate skin that needs full coverage.

Bobbi brown is also good but i prefer Jane.
Studio Fix... ive used it... since i cant remember

you can pack it on for heavy coverage or use a powder brush and get a light coverage... its pretty much amazing
I've been told that MAC is an extremely good brand, but I wouldn't know from first hand experience. There's also Bare Minerals, which is very good for your skin.

Best compact powder for you?that conceals your flaws on face.?

um, Loreal Mineral Makeup is amazing!

It's really great covering up dark circles and blemishes, i have acne, and i've had soo many people tell me wow how'd you get your face clear?? When it's actually the makeup.

Not sure if it's hypoallergenic though.

Physician's Formula is even better on your skin helps you clear it up without clogging pores.

    It's hypoallergenic.

    Good Luck!

:)Best compact powder for you?that conceals your flaws on face.?
If you have the funds and want a product a cut above BareMinerals, check out Jane Iredale or Colorescience. Not only is the product better, but both last forever--as in 6 months or more. I found both these brands at a medical spa.

You should also consider using a primer before applying the powder. Colorscience makes a great mattifying one called ';Line Tamer'; which is perfect for a girl like me who needs to conceal all year round--even in the 90 degree NJ summers!
I like Maybelline PureStay powder foundation. It works well because it is an actual foundation not just a finishing powder.
mac studio fix in department store brands

    but in drugstore brands,

I really love covergirl's outlast pressed

powder. it stays on all day! I don't need

    a primer.
Bre minerals is amazing! but its kind of expensive. its hypoallergenic too and it covers ur flaws like magic!!
    Maybelline PureStay Powder foundation
    MAC Studio Fix
    Try MAC Studio Fix.
No compact powder for me. :)
Bare minerals. It's the best ever and good for your skin!
    rimmel london, stay matte

Compact Powder Clinque VS Bobbi Brown?

Which is better for the SKIN?

    Bobbi brown or Clinque

For pressed powderCompact Powder Clinque VS Bobbi Brown?
Clinique is good and so is Bobbi Brown is really good .... I have ordered several things from Bobbi Brown and I think that Clinique has products that are good for your skin just as she does ....I looked at both websites for their pressed powders and Bobbi Brown is like 30.00 and Clinique is like 19.00 or so but I didn't look at the size so you might want to check for that ....and it seemed to me that Clinique offered more shades ..... I am sending you the links that I looked at ..

Honestly, they are both good. I've used both. I currently use Bobbi Brown pressed powder, but used Clinique for YEARS! It will be a personal preference. The good thing is that both brands stand behind their products. So if you have a problem with either, simply take the box and receipt back to the store you purchased them from and return.
clinique is so much better! clinique doesnt use any harsh oils or anything bad for your skin, and it goes on really smooth.

bobbi brown goes on smooth too but it has harsh oils and might make you break out!
I always go with Clinique as it designed with skin care in mind and is usually gentler than other brands. Not to mention it's cheaper.

    Compressed Compact Powder Foundation?

I have like 2 but it's my mom's. It's like about 17 year old makeup!!!! I need foundation for my play and Idk how to use the compact foundation. Everytime I try it it looks like powder is taking over my face!!! Like you can see the mineral pieces. My mom put them on me b4 and it looked the same. My friend today used compact foundation and she looks the same as me with it. How do you apply it? Also is liquid foundation better? Thanks! Also what's the difference between bronzer and blush???Compressed Compact Powder Foundation?
Oh my! Powder has changed a lot in 17 years, not to mention old powder can dry out or the oil in it can go rancid or any number of problems. You need to use powder that's fresh and new, it will look much better. Even inexpensive drug store brands have much more finely milled powders than that long ago without the chunks of glitter. Look for one that doesn't have sparkles in it, one with a nice clear finish. Talc based powders give a more matte and natural finish, mineral powders all tend to have shiny particles. To apply a powder you are better off using a soft fluffy brush rather than the little sponge-puff thing. Sweep the brush over the powder and then sweep it over your face. You can layer for a bit more coverage. Try not to brush it on so think that it makes your skin look powdery. Liquid is best for people with dry skin, if you are a teen with oily skin liquids will look greasy and they will not be long lasting on your face. Plus, liquids often need a layer of powder over them to set them and that can clog up pores, something you don't want if you are prone to breakouts.

You could try something that isn't a liquid or a powder. Maybelline makes a foundation called ';dream matte mousse'; It's light and gossamer feeling, and you can layer it for more coverage. It sets to a nice powdery silky finish and it's great for teens with oily skin. And you don't need to brush powder over it.

Bronzer is used all over the face to give a sun kissed tan look. Blush is used only on the cheeks and in the cheek hollows to contour and bring colour to the cheek, like you've been outside and active. Darker blushes are used in the hollows of the cheeks to make cheekbones look more prominent, skilled make-up artists can re-contour the shape of the face through skillful application of contour blush. Most people don't need that, a light dusting on the cheeks is enough to give the face a healthy looking glow,Compressed Compact Powder Foundation?
    Ok short makeup application lesson.

    1. Make sure you are starting with a clean, freshly washed and moisturized face.

    2. Try using a primer before applying your foundation or powder or concealer. It helps smooth the skin so you have a smooth canvas to work with. AVON makes a primer thats great and inexpensive.

    3. try using a brush instead of a powder puff or sponge to apply it.

    4. Please purchase some new makeup! It's best to replace makeup at least every 6 months or so because it can and will grow bacteria which can lead to skin problems and allergic reactions.

The link at the bottom is for the AVON magicFX primer its on sale for $7.99 and you can use the free shipping code also.

    Hope this helps!

first apply liquid foundation, not too much. then apply a light amount of powder. looks best when u do both. not too smooth or shiny, not too fake looking. (:Help me choose make up. liquid founadtion or compact powder?
I've been reading up on Mineral foundations because everyone keeps raving about it. I bought the Physicians Formula one and I like it but it seems like I have to put a lot on to get it to work and then it starts to cake on my face. Also, the powder gets everywhere (it's loose powder).

Right now I'm using Pur Minerals. It was the only mineral product I could find that was pressed so I didn't get powder all of my dresser after I was finished ;P

Here's some other information you might find helpful:

    http://www.girlslovemakeup.com/2009/05/pur-minerals-4-in-1-pressed-mineral-foundation/
You should try STARGAZER foudation. i have been searching for ages for a pale foudation that brands such as rimmel do not supply, then i found stargazer which you can get from emo/greeb shops or from the internet! its great!!!!!! x.x.x.x.
I would go with a loose mineral powder. I switched about two months ago from a liquid and my face has cleared up and it's light but has good coverage.
I prefer liquid foundation because my skins too dry for powder! :/

But i did use to use both + i think this does look nice, so try it (:

They also have shadows and blushes in this line also. Please advise me on the best mattying compact powder in the market.?
I have found that at least on my skin, compacts arent very good. Loose powder works really well, it stays put all day. I use Covergirl... but any one will have th same effect. With pressed powders you are just wiping off the oil from your skin with your applicator, just to put it back next time you use it. Since i switched, i have gotten a TON less breakouts... and you don't have to buy more as often...

    good luck!
MAC or Lancome or estee lauder they work really good u can try clinic 2 mac n clinic r the cheaoest ones good luck

    Which compact powder to use?

my frens say i have a glowing and healthy skin.when i apply compact powder my husband says all the shine has gone.what to do?i like to wear powder when i go to party...plz helpWhich compact powder to use?
You could always change to the mineral foundations they are really good at covering bad spots or freckles etc., or they have a beaded one from avon and it mixes to suit any skin tone so you don't have to worry about it, hope this helps, goodluck! :)Which compact powder to use?
Apply the powder with a brush, that way it will go on more lightly and won't completely eliminate all shine. Alternatively you could invest in a powder that contains a little bit of oil or fine sparkle dust, which would give you that 'glow'.
If you have an already glowing healthy skin whats the problem?

I don't know anybody that likes to have a shiny face...........

But if u want like a shimmer added to your skin then you should get a blush or bronzer with a slight shimmer to it.

    Foundation? compact? powder? primer?

I seem to be confused about face color. Is foundation what you wear before putting on compact? is it the same thing just different forms? is loose powder and pressed powder foundation? if its all different how are they different and when do you put on what?Foundation? compact? powder? primer?
Putting face makeup has many different tools... Primer being the first which can also be substituted with a moisturizer and used to fill in the surface area of skin can be colored, ie. green if you have red in your skin you want to cover up, yellow for dark circles ect. however transparent is usually the most popular. Concealer is a smaller product that is used on trouble spots much like a colored primer, under eyes, blemishes and must match your skin tone. Afterwhich foundation is applied, it comes in one of many forms, a compact -as you mentioned, stick, liquid, mousse, minerals etc., it is the same product just in different forms. The reason for the different forms is convenience for one and skin types. For example, sticks are good on normal faces since it tends to be thicker and less hydrating, liquid is good for dry and so forth. Lastly is powder, this is used for setting the foundation as it may get greasy throughout the day. Loose is dusted on after and sits in any overly moisturized areas pressed powder is the same idea just less spillage involved. Overall, these steps can be cut out if you don't find you have to encorporate them in your routine because you don't have an issue to fix. Also, there are many products now that eliminate the need for numerous steps by having 'liquid to powder' compact foundation for example, which as you may guess is used instead of applying in some cases, concealer, and powder after foundation. Hope this helped my dear...Foundation? compact? powder? primer?
    basically, i use mostly foundation.
PRIMER . FOUNDATION. compact. most people don't use lose powder any more.then maybe a bronze or blush.

yeah a compact is the powder version of foundation.. u can get this semi kind of liquid foundation from covergirl. *what i use and only use* and then there's the full on liquid.

the compact u just spread it all over ur face and make sure u don't have ne lines under ur skin. but if u use what i use.. i think it's the best and u just spread it out evenly over ur face. chin, forehead eyes nose and then cheeks making sure there it's not uneven. but if u want to try liquid just put a few dots on ur face and then smooth it out. u can use liquid and the compact powder.. if u do use the liquid then the compact .. but i think using both is a lil too much.
that's why i don't even mess w/ all that- it's not even good for ure face. i stick to eyeshadow, mascara, sumtimes eyeliner, sumtimes blush, and always lip gloss. some sparkles too. to me, if it smells weird/ chemically, don't wear it.

Has anyone tried physicians formula brightening powder (the swirled compact)?

Can you describe its finish?Has anyone tried physicians formula brightening powder (the swirled compact)?
I bought it thinking that it was powder, put it really is in between powder and liquid, if you know what I mean. Like mousse, kind of. I personally don't like it, it's goopy and looks unnatural. It doesn't spread well, it just stays in one spot.

Any compact powder for dry skin?

im currently using foundation for dry skin...but it takes too much time to apply and sometimes its kinda oily.. is there any compact powder for dry skin?Any compact powder for dry skin?
The problem with powder on dry skin is that it absorbs excess moisture from the skin and really shows up flakiness. I suggest exfoliating with a gentle product 2x per week and putting on a good layer of moisturizer before using a powder as a foundation. You could use a light concealer in areas you need more coverage and then you wouldn't have to pack the powder on. Then, brush the powder on instead of putting it on with a puff. In this case, you should be able to wear any powder foundation (i recommend studio fix by MAC)Any compact powder for dry skin?
powder isnt great for dry skin,it normally shows every single flakie on ur skin so exfoliate good, i really love MAC studio fix powder its medium coverage and i always put MAC Blot powder over it thru out the day so i dont get oily.

  • Mineral makeup vs using powder from compact?

I'm wondering whether using mineral makeup, .e.g. from bare escentuals as a light cover-up or to blot shine is any different in terms of coverage from using my makeup brush and applying lightly from my powder compact?

Other than the ingredients and price, does anyone have any advice on whether there's any great difference? I don't normally use foundation as liquid ones feel too heavy and brushing on (with foundation brush, not big blush/kabuki brush) feels heavy also.

I've got fair-beige, light skin with a mixture of yellow and red undertones, I brush foundation mainly to counter redness on my cheeks and if I know I'm going to be in the sun a lot, so buying foundation in most forms except for tinted moisturers is a bit of a money-waster.

And, for those who have used mineral makeup, which brands would you recommend and why?

Thank you :)Mineral makeup vs using powder from compact?
You and I had the same idea!

I use Bare Minerals and have for almost two years now. The minerals blend and cover so much better than any compact I've ever owned. You choose how much coverage you want and the makeup blends flawlesslywith your skin and it doesn't feel like you are wearing anything at all. Most people think I don't wear base or barely any makeup at all. They think I just have really good skin. Also it won't break you out if you forget to wash it off before bed.Mineral makeup vs using powder from compact?
I've been using bare minerals and it works really well. It covers everything and makes your face looks really natural after putting it on. Plus it takes only 10-15 mins to do your makeup! So much easier than foundation which looks cakey..
I like the coverage due to not liking foundation make up- hate it!

BUT I have oily skin and don't see a blotting or shine control difference between the mineral stuff or store bought powders. Wish they could sell something that really worked for that.
I use bare essentuals and love it. I never used liquid foundation either because i broke out from it. AS for the difference with a compact. I find I have less oil also. With bare essentuals. You don't' use just one application of one particular powder. There are at least three steps. It also provides UV protection. I have found using the bare essentuals right it takes yrs off me :) Best of luck ;)

i am not a face powder person at all (the opposite in fact - i usually use a primer and a liquid foundation) and the majority of my make up is clinique but a friend gave me a shisheido bag of goodies for my birthday, including the poreless powder product and i have to say i will be buying it again when it runs out. it's got a lovely texture, stays put all day and does not give that stiff cakey look that i usually associate with powders.

    good luck!

Is Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup a liquid or powder?

10 points to best answer or if your the only answerIs Almay Line Smoothing Compact Makeup a liquid or powder?
    powder

Which is better- Compact powder or talcum powder?

It's just a persons preference. Personally I like a compact because I can take it with me, but lots of women like loose powder.Which is better- Compact powder or talcum powder?
Compact powder is like makeup so i think that would work better. Talcum powder is like for babies its baby powder basically.Which is better- Compact powder or talcum powder?
Talcum powder would actually leave a whitish, ashy color on your skin. Go for the compact powder because you can find a color that will match your skin color. Good luck!
Talcum Powder Is For Babies Isnt It ??

  • When u buy powder foundation at sephora, do u have to buy the compact separately?

and when u wear a powder foundation, do u have to still finish it off with loose/pressed powder? or could u just wear the powder foundation alone since like all i wear is foundation. When u buy powder foundation at sephora, do u have to buy the compact separately?
if all you need is powder you dont need another powder on top. usually people put loose powder on top to set the liquid foundation.

i dont think you need to buy a separate compact if you buy foundation at sephora... most of the brands they offer, offer powder foundation in a compact already.

Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?

You are permitted to bring solid cosmetics and personal hygiene items as such lipstick, lip balm and similar solids.

I had to fly l to New York a week ago, and makeuup is fine, as long it isn't in liquid form

Here's a link from the TSA of allowed items. Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?
These days it's a wonder you can wear your clothes! The future of commercial air travel is getting rather dim. The industry must rethink it's basic approach to long distance travel.I think the dirigible is a viable replacement for the jumbo jet at least they don't fall out of the sky if the engine quits! Is face powder in a compact allowed on airplanes? What about lip liner in pencil form?
go online and search for the airports you will be flying in and out of and usually they have a list of items you can't take on board with you.
I am not sure, it is best to check with the airline right before you fly, it depends on the security level. I flew when it was orange, and no I could not bring anything like that on the plane. I know a lot of people had to trow alot of things, some of them were expencive and they were not happy.

Check with the airlines. It also might depend on where you are flying in the counry or out of the contry and to what contry
    yeah, why wouldn't it be?
yeah, but just to be safe, if u are flying ... e-mail the airplane company and ask them
    no
just to be on the safe side put all your make up in the check in.
As long as the makeup is dry, yes. Liquid makeup (foundation, lip gloss, nail polish) is what is not allowed.
The last time I looked, solid forms of makeup are fine. You should check the airline web site -- they constantly update info on rules/regs for what you may or may not carry onto the plane.
yes and yes, you just cant have liquid foundation and stuff like that, but you can bring a powder, trust me i just flew
yes it is allowed.. anything that has liquid in it isn't allowed though. like mascara. the rules get stricter if you're flying in and out of the US
    Yes!!! no tweasers though

What is the compact with the powder in it for?

you know the compact with the mirror and powder in it what is that used for? What is the compact with the powder in it for?
It is face powder (foundation) used to cover up blemishes, acne, etc. on the face, also used to give the face a more ';finished'; appearance, to give oily or shiny skin a more matte appearance, or as a base that all of your other makeup goes on top of. The mirror is for quick touch-ups.What is the compact with the powder in it for?
    to touch up makeup
It is used as the second part to wearing make up. The art of wearing make up is just that, and art, and it takes several steps.

    1. Cleanse

    2. Moisturize

    3. Foundation

    4. Concealer (for uneven skin complexion)

    5. Pressed powder - This is the one you are asking about.

    stop ur face from shining
Its make up for your face. I use a really good one from L'oreal, but I really like the one from MAC, but its too rich for my blood.
To retouch your make-up and to take the shine away
To balance/blend the colors/tones and take the shine off your facial features.

What are the diffirences between loose powder and compact powder ?

which one is better for weddings and special occasionsWhat are the diffirences between loose powder and compact powder ?
    loose powder is loose....

compact powder is compressed usually into a compact.

for special occasions you should do your foundation wet then set it with either compact or loose, whichever you prefer. i prefer loose it is more blendable. What are the diffirences between loose powder and compact powder ?
Loose powder is great for oily skin and to set make up. For special occasions I'd recommend loose powder for blotting or touch ups and to set liquid foundation. If your going to be having photographs taken just be sure to skip foundations and powders that have an SPF in them. Sunscreen doesn't photograph well, it often leaves skin looking uneven and much lighter than the natural color. Compact powder is compressed and usually includes some kind of setting agent (which keeps it together in a compact) and often these agents or chemicals can irritate sensitive skin. I prefer loose powder on clients because you get a more even coverage and don't run the risk of irritation.

Just be sure to have a nice fluffy brush for all over coverage.

You can also use loose powder under the eyes during shadow application to catch any fall out and then wipe it away once your done!

    Hope this helps!
