How do you repair / fix a broken musical powder compact / box?

Does anyone know where I can get good directions as how to fix / repair / mend a broken / 'over wound' musical box / musical powder compact?





Also anyone can recomend a good book / web-site on how to repair vintage powder compacts that would also be great!

I would take it t a clock repairman. They have special tools to release the spring tension. Trying to do it yourself could damage the spring or cut your fingers.
